When you spend as much time as I do working in rehabilitation and you realise how little exercise most people are getting.

Making sure you are exercising to your own personal appropriate fitness level with a focus on good technique is essential...

... but seeking help from the wrong professional can be devastating!

​I've been in the fitness industry for over 12 years and I've seen many trainers who recently acquired their 'certificate IV in fitness' train clients. 

After all the hard work and time I put into studying a 4 year university degree plus over 500 hours of hospital and clinic based practicum to become an Accredited Exercise Physiologist and Exercise Scientist...

...I was always so frustrated with the lack of evidence-based techniques that many trainers were using to train their clients.

Time and again I would see the horrifying end result of allowing sub-par instructors be responsible for the welfare of others.

I've seen many men and women being pressured to perform questionable and sometimes outright dangerous exercises because their trainer has no idea of the potential permanent damage they could be dishing out.

I've seen too many situations result in unnecessary injuries - leaving newcomers to exercise feeling frightened and unmotivated.

I spent years developing a system that gets great results whilst also being safe for people of all ages and ability levels to participate in.

In 2007 I founded the Seriously Fit sessions.

​This is not a traditional bootcamp. It's a bootcamp alternative.

We exercise outdoors and in groups but you won't be slipping a disc flipping tyres, tearing a rotator cuff muscle with a battling rope or getting an abdominal hernia from swinging a kettlebell.

If you'd like to do those things then this isn't the place for you!


Every workout session is designed by me, an accredited exercise physiologist.

My fun, 45 minute outdoor workouts are mostly designed for weight loss, however we also see great improvements in cardiovascular fitness and muscular strength.

​Above all, the structured, regular physical activity that we provide can take years off your body age and help prevent the onset of chronic disease.

I have always been active but generally I am not a morning person and would find it difficult to get out of bed to exercise. I lead a busy life and when work hours increased I would often not feel like going to the gym in the evening. After a couple of weeks of going to Dave’s Boot Camp I found getting out of bed was not a problem and felt so energised for the rest of the day. Knowing that I had done my exercise for the day before work was fantastic. 

This year I set myself a huge challenge of participating in the Oxfam Trailwalker event – I had to walk 100km in under 48 hours with minimal or no sleep through the bush! Dave’s boot camp really complemented the rest of the training I had to do for this event –particularly increasing my core strength and muscle strength to help me power up and down all the hills. I made it to the end well under the 48 hours and although I was in pain – I found that the recovery was very quick – something that may have been different if it wasn’t for Dave and his Boot Camp.

I have been a member of Seriously Fit Bootcamp for the past 4 months. Sadly I am leaving as I am heading overseas.

The past 12 months have been very significant for me.  After 22 years I decided to give up smoking and in turn embrace a more active lifestyle and I haven't looked back!  My goal was to become fitter and healthier and I've been able to achieve this with the encouragement and support of Dave.
I really enjoy the sessions, particularly the variety, and I turn up never quite knowing what we'll be doing today.  This has really helped to keep me motivated because it's not repetitive like going to a gym for example.  Working out outdoors is a bonus too and the Saturday morning boxing sessions is an awesome way to kick off the weekend!!

My whole outlook has changed since I started Bootcamp and my ability to handle work stress has improved dramatically.  I have been a migraine sufferer for all of my adult life and since starting Bootcamp my migraine attacks have become far less frequent and I have had far less time off work this year as a result of illness!
If you are looking for a fun way to get fit, in a non-judgmental and supportive environment, then I can't recommend Seriously Fit Bootcamp more highly.

It has been 7 years (where do they go when you juggle family and work) since playing serious sport and then putting family first.  
After a few more excuses the time had come to take responsibility for my own health and rekindle that buzz I get after doing some ‘real honest’ exercise.  After plenty of research – clearly another delaying tactic - the variety of outdoor exercise, venues and times Dave offered attracted me most.  I was very impressed with Dave’s approach; to provide focussed attention and vary the activity relevant to my ability without impacting on other members in the group.   
Dave is very big on stretching which was fantastic for me just starting out. I love that: My daily work and family activities have not changed, but I know I’ve done 45 minutes of ‘real and honest’ exercise beforehand; Dave’s gentle encouragement ensures I continue to benefit from my exercise, both through technique and intensity;  I can see improvements in my strength, speed and mobility.
All major areas of my body are being worked each session with associated stretching; and Dave’s classes give me the motivation to do what I need to for my family’s sake (oh, and me!)

I’d recommend Seriously Fit Boot Camp to anyone wanting to get fit or lose some weight!

I’ve been training with Dave about a year now. Being a busy Mum, finding time between family and commitments was hard, so Dave’s early morning sessions suited me well.

I can pop out while the rest of the house is sleeping and do some excercise before beginning my day. I feel so much stronger, fitter, healthier and much more toned.

Dave’s sessions are a great balance of weight resistance and cardio excercise. He’s very encouraging to help you meet your goals. It’s always a fun 45mins to start my day!

I have been going to Dave's group fitness sessions for the past 18 months.  My exercise schedule was spasmodic, some good weeks, some bad.  I ran a 1/2 marathon and was completely spent, could not walk for a week!  I needed help to improve my fitness level, strength and technique and I knew I couldn't do this on my own.  

Dave tailors the exercises to cater for all fitness levels and what we each want to achieve. I have found my core strength has increased considerably, making a big difference to everyday activities ie: no upper back pain between the shoulders when sitting at a computer at work.
 
I have continued with subsequent 1/2 marathons and my times are faster and I do them comfortably and no injuries or pain after. I have found Dave and his program a great
motivator.  For me, it's easy committing to 3 sessions a week - knowing that Dave will be there waiting, I can't let Dave down or myself.

I decided I wanted to “do something for myself”. I had previously joined a gym – it lasted about 18 months with me dragging myself there at night to do the same repetitive circuits or aerobic classes and I finally decided it was not for me. 
I was extremely unmotivated… Until I found Dave. 
As the weeks turned into months I felt so much fitter and happier with myself  so I decided to do my first “Fun Run” . If you had asked me 12 months earlier if I would consider doing a 10km “Fun Run”  I would have laughed at you!
If it wasn’t for my twice a week training sessions with Dave as well a support from my husband and family I would not have gained the fitness, motivation or will to meet the goals I set for myself. I now feel fabulous and have met some great new friends and have not looked back!
